What this means is that the TT geared cars utilize the engine torque better."Some drag racers will note that once you get a tire spinning it is hard to get it to stop spinning and "hook." Think about when a car does a burnout. It is a little harder to get it started spinning, but once it goes, it goes fast. Folks with shorter gears have noted (I have direct experience here, in other cars) that a shorter geared car spins the tire with less wheel speed, and it doesn't "get away" from you ask quickly. You can modulate the spin, because the wheel speed is slower. In addition, you are more able to "short shift" the car into second gear with a shorter gear, and get the car hooked up more quickly. It seems you are building a large part of your argument around the taller gear utilizing the power better. That is not always the case, and you might know that if you actually used a car in the way that I'm describing.
